Volunteer With Us!
APACAF is a community and volunteer-based nonprofit organization. That means that APACAF does not receive government grants or employ full- or part- time staff to take care of administrative and overhead costs. We actively seek volunteer professionals who would like to provide pro bono services and consultation for youth mentoring, teaching, developing curriculum, managing financial and legal logistics, supporting IT needs, etc. to improve the lives of people in their community. We offer mileage and project reimbursements for our volunteers.

“Banking” Volunteer Service Hours
APACAF is a volunteer-based organizations, which means that there is no paid staff. Stipends are provided to teachers to cover travel expenses and program materials. Fees for classes and activities are collected to cover expenses for office rent, utilities, program facilities, and other necessary program resources such as books and software.
APACAF understands that tuition can be an obstacle for many low to moderate income families who have to prioritize their spending. Instead of a sliding scale fee, APACAF offers families “bank” volunteer service hours in exchange for our program activities and services. We also offer financial aid to students who receive free or reduced lunch (with school documentation).
Donate to us
For over a decade, APACAF has relied on community support to pay for program expenses that directly benefit our students. The funding we raise each year is used to pay for facilities, telephone and internet access, program supplies and activities, disaster relief, camperships and scholarships for disadvantaged students who demonstrate high academic achievement. Many of our students have gone to college and return as volunteers to assist us with delivering our programs and services.
Since student tuition for E-STEAM (for example) is often collected to pay stipends to instructors, program materials, and facility rental, we usually accept ongoing donations from community members who want to sponsor a student if they cannot afford the tuition. These donations are relatively low, but have helped many students in the past. We are grateful for the community’s on-going support!

Although APACAF has been around since 2000 (that’s more than a decade), we’re still one of the best kept secrets in the community. Help others know more about our programs and activities and how we are striving to build a diverse community that is not only culturally aware of Asia Pacific American heritage, but also a caring community that strives to assist the under-served disadvantaged populations across the United States.
